Many teams are familiar with Slack, a tool for messaging and collaborating on projects. After months of testing, Slack is now offering users the ability to speak with their team members. In fact, this week the company announced the roll out of the voice chat capability ‘Calls’ to all users:
“Typing is great. We love typing. And while there are many fine ways to communicate via typing — messaging in channels, direct messages, and group DMs — today we’re officially adding calls to the mix for everyone.”
People can make one-on-one calls. With the premium version, they can also make conference calls. When a user starts a call, a message will come up inviting others to join the conversation.
The new feature also lets people use emoji, allowing them “to express approval, disapproval, or raise your hand to ask a question — all without interrupting the speaker.”
